Yangon, Myanmar (GNJ): University Students of Hakha locked the main entrance gate of Hakha University where military troops are being deployed on 7 March. According to a local resident near the university, about hundreds of troops are in side the university compound when students locked the gate.
This is a courageous sign of students that they are not afraid of the military and they are committed to root out military coup once and for all in Myanmar.
Myanmar Military troops were being deployed to hospitals and other public building in cities and towns around Myanmar since 7 March on Sunday, in the latest move by the ruling junta to consolidate control in the face on ongoing popular resistance.
Troops have been seen occupying hospitals, university campuses, and temple compounds in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Bago, Tanintharyi, Mandalay and Sagaing regions and Mon, Kayah, Kachin and Rakhine states.
In some areas, there were reports of public protests against the move, which comes after a week of deadly crackdowns that left dozens of protesters dead around the country.
In my analysis, the reasons of such occupation might be because of University’s teachers are doing CDM to military coup and because of daily protest of dynamic youth since 5 February around the country. Besides, by occupying at public buildings, military coup thought they can get contact address information of civil servants and university students who are making daily rally against military coup.
